From humble beginnings, Ed Dickman, an immigrant from Germany, and his wife Augusta built a life for themselves and their family in Silverton, Oregon. Ed worked in a mill until he was able to purchase 65 acres of farmland northeast of town in 1929. Over the years, their son Paul and his wife Barbara expanded the operation, growing caneberries and field crops while raising their six children

Two of Paul’s Son’s Mark with his wife Nancy and Mike with his wife Susan came back to the farm and expanded the operation away from dairying to vegtables.

Today Dickman Farms is a thriving multi-generational family farm, spanning over 3,200 acres in three counties. Mike and Susan with their sons Corey and Ryan along with son-in-law Eric, now manage the farm, producing turf grass for seed, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, sweet corn, storage onions, hazelnuts, and wheat.

What sets Dickman Farms apart is our unwavering commitment to family, hard work, and growth. With the fifth generation of the family already involved in the farm, we are excited to see where the future takes our multi-generational farm
